Waco, Texas

The festival honors the immigrants for coming to America and the evolution of that culture in Texas. The experiences of settling on the frontier are shown in exhibits. Museums from Texas and other states have brought items, hand-outs and videos showing different aspects of the immigration.

The festival is for everyone, not just for people of Scandinavian descent. This festival with its artwork, carvings, games, dances and music seeks to provide a glimpse of the Nordic culture. It portrays a way of life that the Nordic people brought to America and to Texas.
